india psychedelic retro trend. after a music trend research round trip in 3 different_A _level record stores in berlin there is one main trend direction: the people are desperate looking for songs with a history and a story ::: expalined the owner of the record store at leila m. in berlin :
“I’m selling massive amounts of 70`s retro stuff from india and thailand. vintage thai pop..wired and completely psychedelic sounds from 70`s bollywood soundtracks : i can`t expalin this..but the people love the old sounds and the strange vocals i guess.”
give both cd`s a try…they are very !! VERY strange..but full of emotions..and i can guarantee more than 20 smiles per listening.
cd one: psych funk : sa rega : psychedelic funk music from india : 70`s up to the 80`s

Psych Funk Sa Re Ga! also includes off the beaten path Indian experiments in Psych Funk – for example, two songs from the Simla Beat garage-psych albums, and an oft-heard Deep Purple cover by the ground-breaking Atomic Forest – alongside examples of the Indian Psych Funk influence on European 70s musicians.
cd two:
the sound of siam:
The 19 tracks reflect the outcome of a twentieth century journey from Thai classical to Luk Krung and Luk Thung – music that incorporated western influences such as jazz, surf guitar, ballroom and even Latin and African.

p.s. i don`t work for the music / record companies !!

..2 of the highlight shows that surprised us concerning creativity and power. both collections are quiet new, but we think there is a massive potentail in both lines:
schmidttakahashi is a berlin based duo working on conceptual recycling .. amazing details and poetry in the show on wednesday evening…picts and fresh talent from romania…after the jump
romanian designers show @the bebelplatz was really tough late after (10 p.m) the a.f.vandevorst show at 10 a.m and the complete day researching at the premium…BUT … 2 collections paid off 180 % : alina botea, and most of allthe show lucian broscatean was breathtaking. great colours, minimal shapes but with powerful volumes, a kind of yamamoto meets street and minimal art.
lucian broscatean : we are sure…..we wil hear from him in the future !!!
schmidttakahashi : recycling couture

THE OPENING WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 19TH OF JANUARY…
THE LOCATION
at Torstraße 67, Happy Shop is nestled on the main drag between two primary arteries of Berlin-Mitte –
Rosenthalerplatz and Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz – with its constant flow of tourists and locals alike visiting the numerous galleries, shopping at the boutiques, and hanging out in the trendy cafés and restaurants. Happy Shop inhabits one of the last open plots of land on the coveted Torstraße, home to an eclectic mix of those commercial spaces, scattered among pre-war bourgeois apartment buildings. The combination of the new establishments and these weathered buildings, reminiscent of a past majesty, results in an ambiance unique to Berlin, and for which Mitte is renowned.
